I recently did a post on “Controlling What Others Do” and thought about turning the table as
I was confronted with a question about eating disorders (bulimia specifically) – two times in a row within the last two days. And how we can best help someone in this situation.
It got me to thinking…
Where does this type of thinking and emotion come from?
At the deepest level, I feel it comes from emotions of shame and guilt.
Shame and guilt for what one has done in contrast from what they think they should have done.
Each of us has likely had some of these same feelings in one part of our life or another.
We think we must control a situation by trying to control all the outside or external factors – instead of looking deep within ourselves and controlling the only thing we can control; our thoughts and feelings about a situation. These emotions are held at the lowest vibration and frequency possible – they rank right down there with fear, powerlessness, grief, victim-hood, and depression. They lead us to know we are as far away from the truth of who we are – as we possibly can be. Our God meter is telling us – to turn away and find some way to feel better about a situation.
But how can we do this?
First, lets understand where these feelings come from:
- Not trusting in what we do as being good enough.
- Not trusting our guidance system. The guidance system that is leading us where we could be as opposed to where we are currently.
- Not understanding our divine nature. Who we really are.
It is in making a decision to change how we feel and be more of ourselves that we can affect this change. These feelings may haunt us for awhile, but we can, in the moment affect the NOW moment – meaning we can change the momentum and begin immediately to think and feel better, then think and feel better, then think and feel better. Moving from less satisfying to more satisfying. As we do this, we change the momentum, which makes it easier for us to find better thinking thoughts and better emotions. When we identify a gap (gap between where you are and want to be) we identify the truth between how our inner self feels about us and how we are challenging that in the moment.
Let’s identify how we put a label on form.
Because when we identify how we perceive ourselves and others we put judgement on things. When we no longer judge – we feel better.
For example… size….
Think about how we judge an elephant and a ladybug or small insect.
Would we ever think about squashing an elephant? We don’t think twice about stepping on a small bug.
Or our belief about what things are…
An example – a chicken hawk vs and eagle.
Both are very large birds but we think differently about each. One as a scavenger and one as a majestic being.
Or a snake vs a cuddly kitten...
We judge one as scary and the other as sweet and beautiful.
Our filters of how we view ourselves can be skewed in this same way.
Every part of this earth is consciousness… the elephant, the small insect, the chicken hawk, the eagle, the snake, and the cuddly kitten… just as our bodies and all our cells are consciousness.
When we make judgements about our own size, what we are, and how we are interpreted, we automatically turn away from the truth of who we are. Our filter of how we are viewing ourselves and others are skewed.
As consciousness exists in everything… lets look at another scenario…
How about a dead leaf vs an alive leaf.
Or a dead plant vs an alive plant,
A dead body vs an alive body.
What are the differences between alive and dead. Consciousness exists in both, but where there is live-ness – there is consciousness flowing.
perception or focus changes. A dead leaf is dissolving back into the oneness with ALL (in the physical – this means the Earth), as from prior – the alive plant is focused into a physical form and in some ways still conceives itself as a unique form of consciousness.
Why is this context of all this important in this conversation?
Our form is how we sometimes separate ourselves instead of seeing this as the majestic experience it is.
What we see is the limitations instead of understanding that it is only a perception. Perception of being separate.
Our view of perfection is skewed.
For example…
- We see our perfect body – as being a certain weight, height, build – instead of knowing that we are already one with everything else and loved deeply – not immediately needing to change to be more of what we think we need to be – instead of knowing we are already made of perfection.
- We see our relationships as – as needing a certain amount of responsiveness or need for love or acceptance instead of self-accepting ourselves. We want someone else to approve of us instead of approval from all that really matters is approving of ourselves.
- We strive for perfection in our health – seeing or visualizing this from our narrow perspective (ego-focused) without the entire Universe-focused view) and understanding that our bodies are portals for energy to pour through and they are perfect in the moment for whatever it is we wish to experience.
- From a spiritual reality perspective – we see ourselves separate from God. But through this skewed perception – we gain better clarity of who we are. We don’t have to do anything but still ourselves and that guidance POURS through. We are receiving messages in every moment.
- We feel we don’t have enough. This is can be most apparent in places like our finances. In our minds this can mean – a certain amount of money that we have, we have saved, or that we have available. For some this may mean enough to make it through the day, for some enough to make it to the next paycheck, and for some a specific number – maybe a 5-6 figure income. We don’t understand that it’s not in the numbers or in having enough… for all is being supplied in the moment. We have enough right now. Remember that a dollar is energy. Remember earlier we talked about judging different forms of energy. Crows vs Eagles for example. What is it that we “think” is good. By dropping labels, we can have exactly what we most need in the moment.
All of this is LACK-mindedness.
The TRUTH is, is that right now ALL is perfect.
What are some tools that we can use to be able to perceive this more and more in the moment?
We can:
- Smile or laugh. Even if it doesn’t feel real… it creates a vibration and frequency of living into that. Have you ever “fake laughed” and before you know it, you start laughing just because it seriously feels so weird, haha!
- Change your posture. Push your shoulders back and straighten your posture. In yoga there are poses to bring you into body awareness of confidence and strength. When we position ourselves with authority, authority within takes over.
- Calm the nervous system. Literally talk to yourself and bring that heightened state down a bit by saying “ALL IS WELL”. We can slow our breathing down. We can rest and relax into the moment.
- Re-define what perfect is. We talked about this prior. By redefining what perfection is – we can live by new standards and awareness. We are no longer comparing ourselves to an UN-truth or a delusion about what perfection is. Journaling can be helpful here. What is your new truth? What is your new standard? When we understand that the body is a shell (and that our awareness is peeking through this shell) – we can readjust our relationship with our true self. We understand that our consciousness is eternal, our bodies are being breathed by something larger than our physical being.
- Let go of struggle. The falsity that we must always struggle causes us undue pain and anxiety.
- Know more of ourselves. By simply intending to know more of ourselves – our focus changes. This literally immediately puts us in a new set-point energetically. When we trust that our intention to create is enough and that moving forward we are ok and that all will be fine. We trust our eternal self.
Remember – our breath is the truth that we exist in more than the physical. The breath comes from somewhere.
If we had nothing but our breath – we would still be perfect. If we were homeless and had no personal belongings we would still exibit consciousness. We would still be being guided. Everything is energy and any situation can be changed. By understanding this, we close the Gap. The Gap between who we think we are and who we really are.
As we bring our energy into the NOW, we have full realization that we can affect ourselves and others in the most profound way. When we are able to vision the larger part of ourselves, we bring our focus and perception into the moment, we start actualizing that immediately.
So this is what we can control!
We are so powerful!
Our minds help to transform our world. Start today.
